How to get from Lyon Saint-Exupery airport to Perrache.

This is just an outline of one of the many ways to get to the Perrache from the Lyon Saint-Exupery airport - hope it helps!

When exiting the Lyon Saint-Exupery airport you will see many signs showing directions either to the Rhone Express station or to the metro. The fastest route is the Rhone Express however, it is also the most expensive route. Following the signs to the Rhone Express station, you will see their magnificent and noticeable station:

Inside, there are self-service machines where you will be able to purchase tickets. Return tickets -where returns are valid for a year - are 27.50€. The service only makes three stops: Meyzieu, Vaulx-en-Velin and le Part Dieu which will take under thirty minutes.

You can either decided to get off at Vaulx-en-Velin where you can get on metro A for 1.70€ to take you to the Perrache. WARNING - Metro self-service machines only take cards or coins - no cash and no American Express. On my travels, I discovered a gem which not many travel websites mentioned.
If you continue taking the Rhone Express to the Part Dieu, you will then be able to get the SNCF - right opposite the Rhone Express station. The SNCF also known as TGV is a cheap and comfortable transport that will get you the Perrache in a matter of seven minutes. It costs 1.20€ for a quiet, air conditioned and quick transport.

And voici - a not exactly cheap but a simple and easy route from the Lyon Saint-Exupery airport to the Perrache.
